The original building was built in c.1874, and still retains some of the original features, including oak panelling and stained glass windows . Most of the Birch Hotel has been refurbished within the last three years , making it the perfect venue for Business or Leisure.

The Main Hotel facilities are: 51 Ensuite bedrooms  the majority recently refurbished ,  from November 2005 all with wired  Broadband  , 6 Conference rooms , ideal for interviewing up to theatre style for 60 persons, all served by Broadband  . 3 Banqueting rooms suitable for the small family gatherings from 20 persons up to 100 persons on a sit down reception . The Birch Hotel is licenced for Civil Marriage and Partnership  Ceremonies . Restaurant , Bar and Brasserie,  and onsite carparking .
